- Dimsum. Hong Kong Mongkok Tim Sum #02-97 offers 6 item types incl: char siew bao, siew mai & chee cheong fun (rice rolls). Take a queue number as you arrive. When ur number is called, order & collect
- Deep fried dough fritters. Tai Wah #02-115 makes butterfly fritters flavoured with pandan (fragrant local plant). Eat when it's freshly fried to enjoy the crispy, caramelised sesame seed layer.

- DIY popiah: Fortune Food #02-004 sells handmade (actually central kitchen) popiah skin ($15/kg), ground peanuts, crispy bits, chilli sauce, etc to host ur own popiah party @ home. Convenient!
- Hungry at 5am? Jia Ji Mei Shi #02-166 sells local breakfast fare: rice porridge, yusheng (sliced raw fish), yam cake, chee cheong fun, soon kueh, glutinous rice, fried noodles/bee hoon, rice dumplings
- The jap food here is affordable and good! Many different varieties for you to choose as well, comes with miso soup. Stall #02-01 Kazan Japanese Cuisine
- Sliced fish soup ($5; 50-cents for rice). Fresh & flavourful bowl from Nanu #02-122. Tasty marinated fish (available fried or mixed). Served with lots of spinach & fried egg floss 👍🏼
- Fried rice. Enjoyed a $5 serving of prawn egg fried rice from Number One Hundred #02-100. Stall uses short rice grains for bite. 7 medium-sized prawns. Yummy but wish it had more “wok hei” (smokiness)
- Yuet loy food store (#02-151) serves good Cantonese dishes. Ordered beef kailan, black bean fish head, salted fish chicken and golden coin tou fu. All highly recommended. Yum yum !!

- Old school noodles. Wantan noodles, a staple here in Singapore, is served the old way at Tian Tian Noodle House #02-186. Simple, fuss-free flavours. Wantans are substantial too! $3 per plate
- Bak Chor Mee (minced pork noodle). Enjoyed a Signature bowl $4.80 from Mou Tak Teng #02-182. Aromatic sauce & stewed mushrooms. Chef joined Mediacorp’s Hawker Academy apprenticeship program
- Rice porridge. Enjoyed the home-style comfort food from Chinatown The Sixties #02-111. Tasty grainy texture reminded me of childhood family meals. They sell other popular snacks too!
- Wantan mee: Tradnal home-made local fave can b found @ Zhen Zhong Sin Hoe Kee (正宗新合记) #02-177. Noodles 'q' (chewy), char siew (BBQ pork) slices generous but slightly salty. Run by elderly couple Yeah!
- Popular stall tucked in a corner, selling rice with side dishes. Babas Peranakan #02-225 draws long queues during lunchtime. Highly rated by Makansutra, a respected food guide. Fried chicken was big!

- Freshly-made Chinese dumplings. XLBs from Michelin-recommended Zhong Guo La Mian Xiao Long Bao #02-135 were yummy but lacked the moist burst. Their Spicy Wontons were the surprising winner. Yumz!
- Chee Cheong Fun (rice rolls). Sold by Shang Hai Chee Cheong Fen. Simple, light snack. Black sauce is sweet, chilli sauce packs a punch. For vegetarians, opt for his turnip or mushroom fillings
- Quiet corners in the morning & at night. When most stalls at a section are closed, u will find a pocket of peace. There are many such nooks & crannies
- Braised duck rice (or porridge). Run Ji #02-140.Simple serving of traditional staple. Duck meat slices were thick. Operated by friendly elderly lady. So expect old school cuts which incl bone bits :-)

- Japanese food. Kazan #02-001 is a opular Japanese stall tucked in a corner of this popular food centre. Commended for their ebi set, salmon teriyaki set, & teriyaki chicken set
- Laksa. Unexpected find at Nanu Fish Soup #01-122. Stall made up for missing curry leaves & prawns with a flavourful gravy, a whole egg & lots of bean sprouts. This bowl $4

- Rice porridge. Find diners deep in thought in betw mouthfuls of porridge @ 6am. Tucked in a corner, Tian Tian #02-185 serves the quintessential pork porridge. I like its honest blandness. Fish availab
- Outram Park Roasted Meat #02-13/14 is as good as our 4SQ friends described. Pork & duck meat skillfully roasted, w a wonderful smoky fragrant & flavour. Chilli sauce thick & not so spicy.

- Quality pasta from Nudedles.4 #02-034. This beef bolognese $6.50 was both aromatic & filling. Stall has other pasta sauce options. Chef worked at top restaurants in Singapore
- Always come here for Breakfast. Chang Ji Gourmet 02-110. Old time favorite fried bee hoon (rice vermicelli), & peanut/dried cutter fish porridge. Authentic. Love it.

- Mee Siam from Maxwell HaHa 02-95 makes a tasty yet light meal. For $2.20, they are generous with ingredients
- Soy sauce chicken alternative stall. Compared to Hawker Chan (#02-126) & Fatty Ox (#02-84), the serving at Fri Ye Ye #02-177 tasted lighter. Noodles were expertly springy. $3 for this plate

- Popiah. Freshly made vege-based wrap snack from Ann Chin #02-112. Both plain and with chilli sauce rolls were light yet delicious. $1.70 per roll👌🏼
- Nasi Lemak. A popular Malay food, I enjoyed the fried chicken wing from Aziz Jaffar Muslim Food #02-70. The chilli paste to flavour the already fragrant was not overly spicy
- Local dessert black sesame “soup” (or pudding). Made fr toasted black sesame seeds, rice & water. It is sweet, nutty & aromatic. Sample it @ Dessert Station #02-146 & 115 Tang Shui #02-206
- Japanese food. Kazan #02-001 serves up value-for-money set meals. Ranging from $5.50 onwards, their food, including miso soup, were yummy!
- Dumpling noodles ($3). Simple noodle plate from Fatty Ox HK Kitchen #02-84. Authentic dumplings stuffed with prawns. Choice of yellow & rice noodles
- Fatty Ox HK Kitchen: Very yummy soya sauce chicken; smooth & tender. Pair it with the springy noodle or rice.
