- Possibly the friendliest underground staff in London. Check out the counter guy, he looks like a 1920s strongman! Sorts your Oyster out no problem! Legend!
- The left hand pavement on the west side is blocked of. Use the right hand pavement during the works.
- First Capital Connect platforms get very crowded in the evening rush hour. Particularly when trains are running late (ie most of the time).

- The 18.12 and 18.25 Brighton trains are surprisingly empty towards the end of the platform - worth the walk ;)
- LondonistOctober 23, 2010One of the very first underground stations. Currently undergoing massive rebuilding works for Thameslink and Crossrail.
- New in; ticket barriers are now active. Side gate is still operational during peak times.
- Reopened side door is bloody amazing if you are going eastbound. Don't forget to touch in though!
- Beware the tediously "off-script" announcer at this station who is very fond of the sound of his own amplified voice.
- Turnmill Street side entrance only open 07:00 – 10:30 Mon-Fri

- Wear ear-plugs or noise-cancelling headphones because this station has overly loud and very annoying announcements.
- D XGJuly 27, 2010The stupid First Capital Connect "Departures" board spends more time displaying (non-)service announcements than actual train times! USELESS!
- Beware the 'amusing' announcements. They are tedious.
- Don't expect any First Capital Connect service to run on time. Expect nothing and you won't be disappointed.
- Mike PearsonNovember 9, 2010Don't try to exit using an FCC "London Terminals" ticket, the LU staff will kill you, or worse.
- Don't rub *anything* against the tracks. They don't like it.
- Be prepared for First Capital Connect delays and shitty trains.
