Possibly the friendliest underground staff in London. Check out the counter guy, he looks like a 1920s strongman! Sorts your Oyster out no problem! Legend!

The left hand pavement on the west side is blocked of. Use the right hand pavement during the works.

First Capital Connect platforms get very crowded in the evening rush hour. Particularly when trains are running late (ie most of the time).

The 18.12 and 18.25 Brighton trains are surprisingly empty towards the end of the platform - worth the walk ;)

One of the very first underground stations. Currently undergoing massive rebuilding works for Thameslink and Crossrail.

Reopened side door is bloody amazing if you are going eastbound. Don't forget to touch in though!

Beware the tediously "off-script" announcer at this station who is very fond of the sound of his own amplified voice.

Use the side exit during peak hours. It's not quite so busy and there are no barriers.

Wear ear-plugs or noise-cancelling headphones because this station has overly loud and very annoying announcements.

The stupid First Capital Connect "Departures" board spends more time displaying (non-)service announcements than actual train times! USELESS!

Don't expect any First Capital Connect service to run on time. Expect nothing and you won't be disappointed.

Don't try to exit using an FCC "London Terminals" ticket, the LU staff will kill you, or worse.
