Fabulous railway station. I like the way that nothing is accurately sign posted. If you take the stairs to princes street though you'll get one hell of a great view
Want to avoid paying 30p for the toilet? Just ask them if they have change of a £5/£10 note. They always just let you in for free as the change machines just take coins. Don't do this often though!
Jenners Department store (opposite station) has free city guides with tourist maps of the city center (top floor near the café), better than paying £2.50 for the ones in the Tourist Information.
Good station with plenty of signs and cafe/shop/facilities. Could really do with more rubbish bins dotted around for putting empty coffee cups/used wrappers/drinking bottles etc
Such a long walk from platform 2 from South to platform 12 for Glasgow. If you don't rush you'll miss your connection. Also have ticket ready as need it for barriers before you can get on the train.
Great train station only problem for our journey was my mother isn’t well at all and suffers from COPD. We could have done with some assistance to get to the taxi rank which is at top of hill
Surprisingly big. Get here early to get oriented & get to your track. 1st classlounge was nice but departure screen only gave us 15 minutes to catch our train when it popped up. Still, been to worse.
You know what's good in a place like this? Bootsmeal deal, a costa mocha or perhaps an upper crust whilkshire ham and cheddar sanny! If you are getting picked up, out back under the bridge is the pl

The main sitation of the city. Free wi-fi. Castle is 10 minutes away by walking. Waiting room is warmer than outside. Finding a socket to charge phones is not easy. Charge them at the train.
Catching the sleeper to London gives you a full evening at home, a full nights sleep and gets you into London before 7am. Travel 1st class to get acces to showers at other end!
A single ticket to Glasgow is £3 Mon-Fri after 20:00 with a rail card. The offer is only available on the ticket offices, NOT through the automated machines.
Generally a good station, just hope your train is not departing from Platform 7, it’s almost in Dunbar. The G4S ticket staff can be fairly ignorant at times too.
Head into the travel centre for a memorial to Sir Nigel Gresley who designed the Mallard and Flying Scotsman that used to haul the express trains to London.
Toilets now cost 30p to use, so having change is useful. However, more shops now including a Whistle Stop & Costa, so making change if you don't want to use the change machine is easy.
