- The sushi is amazing and fresh always! Been coming for years. A little crammed and always a wait, but so worth it. Rolls are the size of your face so no first dates haha. Good bang for your buck!!
- Service here is getting better and friendlier than in years past. Sushi is amazing. My faves: tuna tartare appetizer, crispy shrimpy and negi toro sushi. Also tuna and salmon sushi or sashimi.
- James HollandJanuary 5, 2017Fantastic sushi, and the miso sea bass appetiser was phenomenal. Short wait for a table (15 mins) and the system for holding people in the hallway needs some work... but it's worth the wait.
- Clara SohMarch 13, 2013Best in quality and size at the most reasonable price compared to so many other overrated/priced places in the city. They're UNI is the love of my life!
- Erica SklarNovember 28, 2014Their spicy mayo is different than most places. And really good. Small spot so go for week day lunch or prepare for a little wait.
- Jose BAugust 27, 2017Great Sushi! One of my top places for sushi in town. I try to visit every time I'm in NYC. The handrolls are amazing. My personal favorite is the spicy tuna.
- Sushi, sashimi, hand rolls, and cut rolls are all great. Fish is very fresh and the portions are large.
- Yaz SAugust 10, 2019The rolls are enormous and they’re very generous with how much fish is on each piece of sushi 👍🏽 Fish is really fresh, would skip any rolls with spicy mayo tbh
- ᴡ ChaoMay 11, 2013The best sushi I can find for less than $100 per head. It doesn't taste frozen. Salmon is my favorite. Roll #5 too!
- EvanJanuary 18, 2013This subterranean sushi place evokes a "Jiro Dreams of Sushi" kind of vibe. While the fish might not be AS good, it's my favorite in the neighborhood. Be prepared to wait at peak hours.
- Sigalle BarnessApril 27, 2019Excellent sushi with a wide variety of fish! Also, get the Hamachi Kama!
- The Zen Box is a great combination of everything, their salmon is very fresh, only place I eat the salmon roll.
- Matthew FrappierMarch 20, 2013The sushi is so great that you won't even notice the tight quarters and sometimes long wait. Servers are attentive and food comes out fresh and quickly.
- Sabrina MajeedMarch 5, 2016Bomb lunch special $15 for a shit ton of sushi (sashimi, nigiri, and maki) and a vat of spicy mayo. I'm down
- Gabrielle GolendaSeptember 19, 2014Mango salmon roll, and any if the special rolls are super delish. Everything is stunning but modestly understated.
- Steve KaliskiNovember 12, 2019Everything. Looks may be deceiving, but this is some of the best sushi in the neighborhood.
- F-Factor NutritionSeptember 5, 2012They tend to go heavy on the mayo, specify that you want your sushi without! Order a green salad to start. Really fresh fish, delish!
- Elba R.M.February 20, 2017Love this sushi place, authentic Japanese food. It's crowded, might have to wait for a table.
- Get the sashimi no shellfish - great deal for $26 and very fresh
- Ernesto GutierrezSeptember 19, 2021A no frills Japanese restaurant with charming outdoor sitting. A good bargain for the price. Fish was fresh but the rice is bland. Beers are served slightly colder than room temperature 😒
- Lindsay CApril 15, 2016Fresh fish, good quality and reasonable prices! Great for dinner on a week night.
- James MullanyMay 14, 2013Sashimi is nice and thin, but big. Prob one of the better places that I've had sashimi at.
- This is a hidden gem. The spicy mayo will change your life.
- The Hamachi Carpaccio special app is incredible. And $7 32oz Asahi beers!
- Andrea BendeckFebruary 10, 2015Although fish is fresh, the rice is so mushy you can barely taste it. Place is hard to spot but location is cozy.
- Francis UdlerJune 26, 2012Everything is great!! Beef teriyaki was delicious and sushi was very fresh. Pieces are big
- Excellent Uni (urchin) here, and they're very honest about when it's fresh and worth getting.
- Best sushi in town. The spicy mayo is outstanding; ask for a side of it for dipping.
- AlexandraJune 26, 2012Vegetarians, you can ask them to make a sweet potato tempura roll with avocado.
- Jackie SiegelNovember 25, 2012Hands down, some of the freshest fish I've ever had. Salmon sashimi is a must.
- SageMarch 20They’ve given up and don’t care. I was served absolutely foul uni that was like raw sewage. I urged the sushi chef to taste it because it could get people sick, but he shrugged and ignored me.
- Everything is amazing. My usual order is the spicy tuna roll, the #2, and the #7.
- AthenaJune 14, 2010Best sushi in the city. Spicey tuna/yellowtail is delicious. Slightly pricey but worth it. Rolls are quite sizable; service is good.
- The sea eel is amazing and melts in your mouth. Also, the special rolls are quite large!
- Dinah LehmannMay 23, 2012The hotate appetizer on the dinner menu and the crispy shrimpy are deeeeelish!
- hafeez rajiAugust 23, 2011I think i was over stuffed when i got here so I can't really speak to much to the food, it's ok, the place is somewhat small, not ideal for a party larger than 4 but definitely worth a mention Read more
- Peter ScordoFebruary 21, 2017Biggest pieces of sushi I've ever seen. Like double the size of this emoji: 🍣
