- I loved the Star Ferry since I was a little child.☺️💖Cheapest and most charming way to enjoy one of the most scenic Spots in HK. Get the ferry at 8pm to see the Symphony of Lights from the sea 😊💕
- ALFNovember 8, 2015A must do in Hong Kong. Inexpensive and great views guaranteed. The old quai in Causeway Bay has some nice stalls selling hand brewed coffee for a very low price.
- Wilson HuiDecember 6, 2013The best experience of taking star ferry is taking lower and the front deck. 1) Cheaper 2) Escape the smell of diesel 3) Watch the caption to steer that historical ferryUpvoted Jan 21
- Leo C.December 20, 2017Ferry is my most favourite way of travelling between Kowloon and HK island. And it’s so cheap at only HKD 2.70 one way!!
- Kay KulkarniJanuary 10, 2016Scrap the MTR and ride the ferry instead! Cheap and offers unparalleled views of the Hong Kong skyline.
- David GardinerFebruary 3, 2017The best way to get across the water. It's historic, cheap, fast, efficient and fun.
- Butch Anthony DomingoOctober 23, 2012If you could experience only 1 thing in HK, go on a ferry ride. It's cheap and the views are spectacular; especially at night, when the skyline lights up.
- Wilson Favre-DelerueFebruary 17, 2016Beats the MTR every time: cheap, convenient, uncrowded and lovely views of both sides of Victoria Harbour from the water, especially in the evenings.
- Take the upper deck area although more expensive by mere cents you don't get fumigated by the smoke from the engine and enjoy the views unobstructed
- Imran GhoryNovember 10, 2015There's two separate entrances down the road from each other (pre ticket gate) depending if you want upper or lower deck. Ticket price is cheap 2.50-3.50 HKD depending if it's on/off peak.
- Alexander WinbladOctober 19, 2014Beautiful traditional ferry from the 19th century. Business class on the top floor. Very affordable trip.
- Garren DuDecember 23, 2018Best value for tourists. HKD 3.70 each way. Must see attraction. Awesome view of Victoria Habour
- Michael WongAugust 31, 2014Egg tarts for the boat trip. Mind, the service was a bit grumpy (at least I didn't have to look at it whilst eating) and the pastry was a bit salty.
- Alya DanilovaSeptember 25, 2015Amazing view,calm atmosphere,have been here around 15 times and always come back ☺️
- Brian JengMarch 20, 2017Make sure to take the ferry for a cheap "harbor tour." Very inexpensive way to sail across and admire the harbor traffic.
- Anna LouFebruary 19, 2017If you have the time, the ferry costs less than the MTR and is fairly quick. People do shove and push to try to get off the boat though.
- Vanessa MartiniOctober 5, 2016If you want a complete and amazing Hong Kong skyline view... don't think twice and get on it!
- Lauren MelcherApril 28, 2013take the star ferry from Tsim Sha Tsui to Central at sunset -- you'll get both the daylight/twilight views and night skylines
- The Ritz-CarltonOctober 31, 2013Jump on a star ferry at night and enjoy the world's "Largest Permanent Light and Sound Show" - A Symphony of Lights" showcasing the glamorous night vista of Victoria Harbour.
- Easily the busiest pier not because of the passengers but the tourists and traders at the area, still love this pier though.
- If you don't mind the sound of the engine, sit on the lower deck. It's the cheapest choice to cross the harbor.
- Upper deck entrance is not that close to lower deck entrance. Look for the signs.
- *Get an upper deck ticket! lower is diesel filled!* If you take the ferry right before 8:00pm, the ferry will stop mid way for photos of the Symphony of Lights!
- Jeremy CJanuary 19, 2015Quicker and more fun than metro for getting back to Hong Kong island from Kowloon. Use your 'Octopus' card to pay and save time by not buying a token.
- Gents washroom just before boarding has the best view of any toilet in the world.
- John LeeMarch 6, 2016Unless you're literally pinching pennies, make sure you board at the entrance for the upper deck. Only an extra 60 cents but so worth it. Better view, fresher air.
- Rafael CJuly 3, 2011A must do and a must visit for tourists in Hong Kong. If you time it right you can watch the Symphony of Lights while on the Star Ferry itself.
- great way to get across to HK island and enjoy the amazing view at the same time. only hk$2.50 one way!
- Dayann JoieFebruary 10, 2015An eight-minute ride. Nice experience. The breeze is indeed even colder coz waters. LOL. You are now at the Hong Kong Island!
- Good clear weather during night time is my favorite time for the ferry rides. Bright lights, Big city.
- Vincent McCoolSeptember 22, 2017At the front of the lower deck you can watch the captain steer the boat!!!
- In summer time, sit at the front or at the back of the ferry to enjoy some air-con ferry ride~
- Vincent McCoolSeptember 22, 2017At the front of the lower deck you can watch the captain steer the boat
- Nitin KumarMay 18, 2019Voted by natgeo as a thing to do in hongkong...u can see both HK island and Kowloon with enthralling view of the skyscrapers
- The upper deck is more crowded, but has better views and is more quiet then the lower deck.
- JuneApril 5, 2015if you look into the sea, you might find the yellowish jellyfishes. I hope they are not toxic.
- David StrasserMarch 16, 2012Best way to cross the harbour. And so cheap. Get a window seat and enjoy the view.
- Hanna AvlasJune 25, 2019The ferry takes you from the Hong Kong island to the continent (Kowloon) with only 5 minutes ⛴
- Take the lower deck for increased atmosphere. Good photo shots too of the engine room!
