- Victoria U.November 4, 2016We did the free tasting with Art. He's a gem. Pro tip: split the bourbon tastings since they can only give you 2 tastes. Ends with dessert.Upvoted 1 week ago
- Rob "Gringobaby" MeekinsJune 4, 2013Many years ago when I first picked up here, the employees were so arrogant and high-toned, I thought the product must indeed be exceptional !!! So I purchased a bottle, I was right !!!Upvoted 2 weeks ago
- Alejandra MarinAugust 14, 2016Free tours on Saturdays, every hour. No reservation required. Our guide was nice and very informative. The tour ends with a tasting of 3 of their products and you get a souvenir shotglass.Upvoted 2 weeks ago
- Allen VoglianoFebruary 20, 2017Took the historic tour with Freddie. A true southern gentleman. His vast knowledge of the operation is generations old, and he made me feel like family. Truly, one of the greatest experiences I've had
- Absolutely beautiful grounds. So many reasons to visit! My son had prom pictures made here and they were gorgeous. Tours, tastings, park, great space to spend a day!
- The TravelerMarch 11Went on a tour, Jackson was the guide. He was funny, and informative. The smells during the tour are amazing. The tasting afterwards was good. They have a giant gift shop with bottles, shirts, etc.
- Kevin SchoonoverDecember 8, 2023Go early, even if reservations are booked, and you will find a FREE tour. Tour guide was informative and great post-tour tasting. While waiting for tour, no place to grab a drink or snack.
- Kelly WeaverMay 15, 2018Freddie was the best tour guide ever! Awesome place and a very informative and educational tour.
- Duncan HowsleyAugust 24, 2014Absolutely fantastic tour - and completely free. You don't see the bourbon actually being made (unlike the Woodford Reserve tour nearby) but the tour still great. Shame about the very cheesy video!
- Kari MDApril 12, 2013Loved the tour today, though it was tragically mostly men. Shelly was great and we got to see two small batch bourbons being bottled and packaged on a small line. This place is worth the time!
- Lucille FisherMay 30, 2016One of the best bourbon tours in Kentucky (and it's free!) with tastings at the end. Excellent shop too.
- Christopher WaltersAugust 24, 2015Love the Buffalo Trace Bourbon! Goes down smooth! Tour guide Will was so knowledgable and funny! Great job!
- Paul GriffithMarch 20, 2013Don't be discouraged if you can't get on the popular hard-hat tour. I'm sure it's brilliant, but the regular run through is plenty informative, and entertaining enough for the non-obsessed.
- Mimi NguyenMarch 28, 2016Tour and tasting here is a must! The tour guides are charming and very knowledgeable. Will definitely be back for more my next trip!
- Ronald VieiraJanuary 2, 2015The tour was great! Learning more on how Bourbon is made in Kentucky. Bought some Straight Bourbon and its Cream; delicious!
- Lindsey WarrenFebruary 1, 2013The Hard Hat Tour (reservations required) is fantastic. You get to taste the various stages of mash and Freddy is highly knowledgeable and enthusiastic!
- Bob St ClaireOctober 22, 2017Maybe the best distillery tour on the Bourbon Trail. Gift shop disappointing though...they only sell 2 of their 18 bourbon brands there. 🤔
- Alexis O'BrienJune 14, 2015Loved the tour so educational and a great place to just stop by and check out. It'd make great place to have a wedding!
- Abby BohnsackSeptember 16, 2017Their ghost tour was super cool and free! The bourbon cream is delicious. Great people and a great experience!
- Jerry DiceSeptember 11, 2015Awesome distillery complex on the edge of Frankfort. Had a great tour guide and one of the best tasting experiences there.
- Daniel BarnettOctober 19, 2014Like the others, they consider themselves the oldest distillery of bourbon. Tour was insightful and definitely worth a stop.
- KemberAugust 11, 2023really enjoyed this distillery tour! def worth the stop, even if your not a whiskey aficionado 🥃
- Kelly Reeves 🐱September 4, 2014Cool, free, low key tour. Video is a bit cheesy but you may get to see them bottling up some Pappy!
- The Hard Hat Tour is a must do. Just call in advance for a reservation - still no charge but great behind-the-scenes info!
- Steve CMay 15, 2017Love their wiskey, but the tour was surprisingly bad. Just an awful video and a bottling line. Tasting session was low end and half vodka/liqueurs.
- Michelle @Black Hills PRNovember 1, 2014Really enjoyed the tour with Regina. Very informative and interesting.
- Artemis BSeptember 21, 2012Freddie leads the best tour I've ever been a part of. Funny, smart, and a bourbon authority. Thanks, Freddie!
- Bobby KennedyFebruary 15, 2016Their whiskey is great, but the tour was a little lackluster compared to Makers and Woodford.
- Stephanie SodukJune 17, 2013Request Freddie as your tour guide if you can. His family heritage is tied into the distillery and he provides a great tour.
- Stephen ValleraFebruary 19, 2013Try Nd book the hard hat tour if you can. And Warehouse C is pretty awesome - tornado surviving Taylor came from that building.
- Ghost tours are year-round! Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights, starting at 7pm! Call for reservations:)
- Sarah WallerOctober 6, 2013Tour is great! Recommend it. However, the bourbon is marked up compared to other retailers so you are better off buying it somewhere else.
- Sara SchulzMarch 7, 2011Fantastic distillery tour. My favorite of the trail. Freddie (tour guide) was great. Cream Liqueur is a good buy.
- Matt LabbeMay 3, 2013They do "Ghost Tours" at night. It's a great way of fitting in another distillery (and tasting) when all the others are closed.
- Russell HirschornMay 10, 2016Tour was lack luster, didnt stay for the tasting, the store has nothing but mid shelf standard stuff, do the hard hat tour if anything
- Paul Travis KleinJune 22, 2013Buffalo Trace is the longest continuously operating distillery in the United States. Way cool.
