- ChubbyChineseGirlAugust 22, 2013Apple Store on steroids. Or the child of apple store and MoMa. Even is you don't come for the exhibit, the space alone is worth a visit. Have. Latte and just chill. Don't miss the gift shop.Upvoted Mar 2
- Gabriel GrinbergOctober 13, 2017There is an amazing Tadao Ando exhibition running until December 18. A bit pricy (1500 Y) but very thorough, save a couple of hours for it.There's even a full scale replica of the church of light!
- JTMay 29, 2016Saw the issey miyake and Renoir exhibits - they were both wonderful. Renoir was really crowded and difficult to get a good view. Highly recommend the issey for anyone interested in Japanese design!!Upvoted Mar 2
- Eric DallemagneAugust 5, 2017One of Japan's most dexterous and vast cultural spaces, the museum doesn't stand still: rather than housing a permanent collection, it instead hosts a changing schedule of ambitious exhibits.
- RachaApril 23, 2019They don’t have an permanent collections, you’ll have to buy a ticket per exhibition, ~$10, the galleries are amazing! simply walking in & being blown away by the marvelous architecture is also good!
- 5t3vi3 WhiteheadApril 4, 2016We saw the Issey Miyake exhibition. It was superbly curated. The way this show is imaginatively curated by the NACT really helps to convey the conceptual and ethical roots of Mikyake's oeuvre
- Kylie WilsonJuly 16, 2016Beautiful architecture, worth a visit just for that. Have a coffee and sit on the deck.
- Katie NugentMarch 31, 2017The Kusama exhibition was excellent. Be prepared to drop some Yen at the gift shop. The building itself is beautiful, spacious and a great place to spend a rainy day in Tokyo.
- The Ritz-CarltonJuly 22, 2015The National Art Center, Tokyo, designed by famed architect, Kisho Kurokawa, is one of Japan’s only “empty museums”, with no permanent collection or display, just temporary sponsored exhibitions.
- Yurika StarrMay 13, 2017Amazing space & great exhibitions that are always changing. Popular exhibits get really crowded so pick days and time wisely. The museum shop is also worth checking out.
- Jeff ForbesOctober 11, 2015Really awesome building with rotating exhibits. Make sure to check out the website before going!
- Eliza ChangMay 28, 2017You can buy tickets online (if English-speaking, use the Google Chrome translate version of the website). Yayoi Kusama exhibit was stunning!
- Flávia SatoSeptember 7, 2016Beautiful architecture and the Nika exposition is totally worth the visit: amazing sculptures, paintings, design pieces and photographies.
- Alexander KwongOctober 4, 2015Nice contemporary building with local modern art exhibition, the whole Roppongi area is definitely worth a visit if you are visiting Tokyo.
- Surface MagazineMay 17, 2016With its curvy glass facade and a staggering 150,000 square feet of installation space, the National Art Center is the largest of its kind in Japan. Read more
- Melissa DuffyJuly 28, 2016Great architecture, but be warned if you go here on a hot day they keep the AC to a minimum
- MaryJune 23, 2017The actual galleries were ok--pretty small collection. No descriptions of art in English like other museums. But the store was fun! Great for souvenirs.
- Angelina HueFebruary 28, 2017Excellent exhibition and well-curated selection of creative, atypical products in the museum shop in the basement
- Nick CrockerMay 11, 2017Loved the paintings section. Train station is directly underneath the gallery.
- In 1982, 1991, 1999, 2006, 2016 years.Once again reunited at the great exhibition.Inspired by nostalgia and his more realistic surrealism.
- Jase WMarch 27, 2016Lots of free exhibits and some great paid stuff. No permanent collection, so the contents are always changing.

- Damian BayonaMarch 15, 2015More of an architectural sight than a museum. Great to relax with a coffee and browse their gift shop.
- dawn.in.newyorkJanuary 29, 2015Attractive architecture itself. Its worth stopping by while visiting Roppongi.

- Savannah PetrickAugust 26, 2016don't bother buying tix at the gate- just go in to look around then buy individual exhibit tix inside
- AjApril 28, 2017Hit up the Yayoi Kusama gift shop first, otherwise it's a 45 minute wait just to check out.
- Alexander ZhukovNovember 25, 2017It’s not really a museum, more like art oriented exhibition center. Saw two exhibitions - Tadao Ando Great) and Shinkai Makoto (mediocre). Overpriced and overcrowded, as usual in Tokyo
- Jaume SolerJune 22, 20142005. 45,000 m2. Energy-saving design. Symbiotic relationship with the surrounding areas.
