- CPJuly 10, 2016Very touristy but also a lot of fun. Great restaurants and bars. One of the liveliest places on Oahu. As a visitor this will probably be your main place to stay on the island.Upvoted Feb 21
- Noel ClarkeAugust 21, 2014This was an awesome beach. They have a section where the warm clean sea water is only waist height for 60 yards into it. Seems to have decent surf and everything you need near by as well.Upvoted 1 day ago
- Nene BenitezFebruary 15, 2015Turquoise water, surfing and gorgeous weather make this a must see. Can be quite crowded on the weekends
- Christi RFebruary 26, 2013Sunsets are amazing -get a spot with a trop drink in hand well before the sun goes down. You won't be disappointed! Daytime snorkeling is great in the smooth waters, & the people-watching is fun too!Upvoted Feb 21
- CamillaMay 8, 2016Great great beach! It's crowded, but you can definitely find a nice spot away from the crowd. Take some surfing lessons and enjoy yourself! Aloha 🌸

- Richard RevillaOctober 11, 2018Awesome beach but extremely crowded. I'd recommend water shoes to protect your feet from the volcanic rock.
- Erika AlmeidaOctober 21, 2019Main beach in Oahu, a must for any visitor, but don’t expect a calm beach where you can rest, unless you come early in the morning. Crowded and very agitated place where you see the sunset.
- spend an afternoon near one of the big beach bars listening to live music while you jump waves thirty yards out in waist deep water
- Reserve your spot on Waikiki Beach with Waikiki Beach Services @WBSHawaii! You can rent a set of umbrella and two chairs for only $40 all day! Cheapest deal on Waikiki Beach! In front of Royal Hwn
- Lizz C.July 31, 2021The beach, sidewalks, and restaurants are all super crowded right now. Be careful of the rocks that collect at the edge of the tide and the water was a little gross because of how crowded it was.
- Damian BayonaJuly 6, 2017Gentle seas that stretch out for miles. One of the best spots to practice surfing. You can rent chairs, umbrellas and boards right on the beach for reasonable prices.
- SuprachibbyFebruary 2, 2015We went on a beautiful day and saw the sunset. This time of year is not as crowded as I heard it can get. Many hotels and restaurants nearby where you can grab a drink or food. Water felt nice!
- DJ K-OSS/B-BOY KID ROCK®June 15, 2013It is such a beautiful day and I love doing my walks at this time in the morning because it's less crowded and you can really enjoy God's creation. I am blessed to have this when I'm home in Hawaii.
- Don't miss Hilton's FIREWORKS on Friday evening starts around 7:40PM. Walk toward west (away from Diamond Head), pass RumFire (bar) on the beach. 金曜日(7:40PM)の夜はヒルトンからの花火があります!
- Veronica VMay 3, 2013Really famous beach :-) sure, its really nice, but If you go outside the city, there are simply wonderful beaches, much more better than this one and less crowded.
- Waikiki beach is probably one of the busiest beaches in Honolulu district. There is much to see here. A tourist magnet. The sunset is always a highlight. Should be seen and experienced.
- Mickey Surf School Discounts AvailableApril 14, 2015Mickey's surf school providing the highest level of quality surf lessons to small groups a real bargain for your money. Ask about social media discount review promo.
- Torzin SOctober 19, 2019One of most famous tourist traps in the planet. While the beach is quite OK, the over developed already destroyed it. Chaotic and full with tourists. There are many better beaches on Oahu.
- Avoid the daily $50 chair rental/reservation fee from Waikiki hotels and rent a chair from a local vendor for $30 per week!
- Matthew ReichardtJune 10, 2015Beautiful view and perfect water. If you want a umbrella, bring $10. Worth it if you burn eat ;)
- Love this beach. Can get pretty crowded but has some great surf spots and a nice sheltered area of the ocean for calmer water.
- Elisabeth RiggsNovember 3, 2015If you want a beach and sun for a few days, this is it. No need to rent a car. Lots of good hotels a block off the beach.
- Kelley L.May 2, 2018Really nice sand and water. There are lots of tourists in the area so expect people to be in your photos.
- The Southern side from the Sheraton is the place to be day or night. Easy to enjoy the sun and surf...not to mention cocktails at Duke's or the Beach Bar
- Deanna PelusoSeptember 10, 2014A little bit of everything here at the beach. From sand, surf, to beach bars and catamarans. The perfect place to visit for a touristy time.
- Riley BranhamMay 30, 2016One of the most well-known beaches on the planet, this 2-mile stretch of white sand and calm turquoise blue ocean is located on the south shore of Oahu. Read more
- Remo MalarikMay 9, 2022Can't go to Honolulu without spending a day at Waikiki. Also a good place to find some surfing lessons.
- Avoid swimming at Waikiki Beach/Kahala Beach/and South Shore when there is a strong stormy leeward wind (Kona Wind) coming from the South or South West. You will be swimming in raw human sewerage.
- Magnus JernJanuary 19, 2015One of the best beaches in the world for surf beginners and occasional surfers. Long, long easy waves! The beach is nothing special.
- UH ManoaAugust 3, 2011Just minutes away from UHM, this beach is popular with both visitors and residents. You can swim, surf, snorkel, dive, people-watch, or just bask in the sun (don't forget to use sunscreen!).
- Jen VJune 12, 2012This is a total tourist spot, but a great beach to go to if your hotel is in Waikiki. They have places to rent anything you need from boogie boards, fins, etc.
- Georgia LuddeckeNovember 4, 2018Perfect spot to learn how to surf! We booked lessons through Waikiki Shore Beach Services, they were great.
- Degree MenOctober 26, 2011Located in idyllic Waikiki, Hawaii, Castles is a second reef break, and is the South Shore’s most famous surf break even though it only becomes rideable when wave heights reach 10ft or higher.
- Ciro NigriOctober 11, 2014Crowded, noisy, windy and "surfy"; this is a place of contrasts... A narrow strip of sand with skyscrapers, hotels, malls, restaurants and boutiques meters away. There's always something, 24/7.
- Go to see beautiful sunset from the beach. Please check the sunset time and arrive there 15 minutes before the sunset.
- MinmayaFebruary 27It was first time since about 4 years ago. Waikiki Beach is always beautiful. The picture is a sunset that seems to be saying goodbye.
- Chris RaghoobarNovember 22, 2015Very, very, very nice beach. The sunsets are beyond beautiful to watch here.
- Babo BubyFebruary 7, 2015Very nice view, great light blue clean water... But not very good for swimming when windy, but perfect for families with children
- Don't forget to watch the sunset at the east part. It's really wonderful. What a view
- You can lay on the sand now, as well as go into the water.
- Jim CurrieOctober 23, 2015Great sand, so soft. The outriggers also seemed very good with walk up service on most days.
- Matthew StaehleAugust 9, 2011Nice but touristy. I am from Tampa and it was like Clearwater Beach with bigger waves. If you don't live near the ocean it will be fine. If you do the North Shore/Hounama Bay beaches are much better.
- Nicest beach on Oahu! Super crowded, though! It's worth it to find a small spot and enjoy the sunrise or sunset
