- Liza PDecember 27, 2016My favorite mountain in the greater Tahoe area! Get your tickets online and skip the line (you do need the refillable card, have to get that in the mail, or at the pick up counter at the resort)Upvoted Mar 3
- I think Kirkwood is my favorite (after Mammoth). Why? Because it's not as crowded as the other Tahoe resorts. Plus the backside has some great terrain and there are plenty of bowls for freshies.Upvoted Feb 11
- 99$ for a lift ticket 3-pack if you have a pass at another Tahoe resort. well worth it because his is the only place in Tahoe with decent snow this year!
- Jamie TMarch 8, 2011Mountain mainly with single and double diamonds.. Definately need to bring a longer board and put ur settings back for the fresh pow! Nice cliff drops and awesome bowls
- The Ski ChannelFebruary 8, 2012Kirkwood has the highest peak in all of Tahoe, so you are promised to find some pow on this extreme resort. The Wall is your go-to for double-black diamond thrills.
- Well worth the drive here. Never any lift lines, good snow, killer terrain. My favorite Tahoe resort.
- Carlos M. Rodríguez VegaApril 1, 2015All levels of expertise are well distributed through all the resort and has an excellent view.
- Only been in the summer, but there are bike and hiking trails, so still worth the time.
- Douglas GrayMarch 8, 2015Usually the best snow in Tahoe. In a drought year it is often the only place with any decent snow.
- On weekends, have lunch at red cliffs lodge. Much less crowded, with cheap beer and food in downstairs market
- Damian BayonaMarch 21, 2017Good runs, fewer crowds and less crowded highways. An under appreciated resort in Tahoe 🗻⛷🏂
- Check this mountain out, awesome terrain and really down to earth people :)
- Sharon RaupachDecember 10, 2019Love the trails and the thrill of skiing Buckboard, with my grandchildren!
- LakeTahoes AliveJanuary 8, 2012If you have a pass at another Tahoe basin resort you can get a day pass for Kirkwood for $33.
- Christian HandleyMarch 31, 2012Get a friend with a season pass. Lift tickets are $39 if they scan your friend's pass!
- J AMay 1, 2011Free wifi by the Red Cliffs Lodge (in case you're on Sprint and get no data service out here)
- TishJanuary 13, 2011Ask for Nathan T. if your looking for a patient instructor. Great prices for lessons and equipment rental!
- Amazing mountain with terrain for everyone! Hard to get to on a pow day, but worth it!
- michael nerenburgFebruary 19, 2014Thank god vail bought them maybe now they won't be so screwed up with the hippies running that primitive mountain.
- Make sure you check runs by chair number 4, especially after fresh snow!
- Lisa van der MeerDecember 29, 2014Great place to ski and snow board. Food is ridiculously over priced. $5 for hot cocoa. Take your own. $7.50 for a 2 ounce bottle of sun screen. Employees are wonderful.
- Sam HoJanuary 22, 20122 for 1 tickets from shell (not good in Saturdays) and $50 tickets from costco. Normal price is $79
- Make sure check your rental gear, they gave me broke ass board binders.
- If you're a noob, don't burn your energy on the bunny #9, go to #7 quickly
- Don't feel like skiing? Take your your dog x-country skiing or snow shoeing
- Cross country main area is next to the Kirkwood Inn, not in the main parking area. And the parking staff is not helpful on directing you there.
- Chris WilliamsFebruary 27, 2010Great atmosphere and cheap beer. This place isn't affiliated with Kirkwood so no price gouging..
