Usually long queues. Go to the machine if possible. Much quicker. Go to the Pumpkincafe for delicious coffee. Get the 'Bite' card if you travel a lot for discounts in lots of shops at the stations.
Fast London service from platform 4 usually. Although rarely there are platform alternation. Travelling to south London the Clapham j hourly service might be quicker than the fast service to Euston.
If you're traveling in early, remember that the surrounding car parking won't let you pay at the machine until 8.30am. And don't just sit in a parking space as the traffic wardens are always prowling!
If waiting for a train to London Euston and the train that stops fires out loads of steam from the engine and makes a whistling sound, you've probably gone back in time and should try to fix that.
Milton keynes black cabs are too expensive on the rank about £1.60 per mile.Call 01908 263263 i recomend them much cheaper than the black cabs here when i have used them.
if you're travelling frequently and dont want to wait in ridiculous queues in the morning buy your ticket for the next day the night before. 20 extra minutes in bed? thanks!
bus stops have now been moved about 100metres from the main door on the next road up, giving a calmer atmosphere at the exit. this is part of an improvement scheme
Staff will take default position of suspicion if you try to buy ticket to change routes without exiting the station. And rightly so, as everyone knows, only criminals take the train, eg Ronnie Briggs.
Some of the London Midland staff here will find any excuse to talk down to you and make you out to be a criminal if you make even the slightest mistake with an invalid ticket. Appalling.
When you arrive here at 2 in the morning having been asleep when the train was at Tring, try using one of the many taxi's outside to help you get home.
Wheelchair user @MKCentral? 1) Rounded taxi drop off = no way to pull up to kerb; 2) The only dropped kerb is on approach & it's not marked = ppl park on it. 3) Brittle/narrow taxi ramps= dangerous.
Most of the platforms don't have seating, so use a coat or similar on the metal/rubber barriers to give your legs a rest whilst you're waiting for a train.
