    Modern clean station after major redevelopment. Well designed, with artisan workshops & amenities nearby.

    As it's only one stop from London Bridge the trains are usually crammed in morning peak hour, don't expect to get a seat.

    Deptford was the birthplace of the Royal Navy, with royal docks established here by Henry VIII in 1513. Francis Drake set off in the Golden Hinde to circumnavigate the globe from here in 1577.

    Station is listed building, oldest in London. Sadly also a bit of a dump. Is apparently being rebuilt sometime soon.
