- Annie's will sell you a side if scrambled eggs, seasoned with delicious butter. Get some free salsa from them and have a tasty, carbless breakfast in the land if carbs that is airport breakfast.
- Finally! Austin has Pre at security. If you qualify, keep your shoes and belt on, leave everything inside your luggage--computers, too--and walk through the metal detector. Just like the old days.
- The security line to the right (by JetBlue) is usually quicker than middle and left. You can walk down regardless which you're flying.
- Austin Bergstrom makes flying fun. It's packed with local chain restaurants to welcome you and often has live music. It's also easy to navigate & rarely hard to get through security.
- Take the Airport Flyer (100) to downtown for $1.00 (free for UT student/faculty w/pass). Pick-up is on lower level next to taxis. It will drop you off at 4th and Trinity (Austin Convention Center).
- Easy airport to navigate. Good food options. Free Wi-Fi. CLEAR offered at two security checkpoints. Long security lines during early weekday mornings.
- Austin Bergstrom only allows local businesses. That's why you won't find a Starbucks or McDonald's. Try Salt Lick or Amy's Ice Cream.
- All gates at AUS have been renumbered with the 2018/19 addition of the new northern gates. Keep in mind for those Swarm tips that give location by gate.
- If you're as anti-Pepsi as I am, you're probably craving a Coca-Cola right about now. Head to Amy's Ice Cream across from Gate 12. They even have free refills! Also, they have Diet Dr. Pepper!
- Get back to AUS from downtown in 20 mins for $1. Catch the Cap Metro airport flyer bus #100 on 7th. just east of Congress…conveniently neat the Driskill Hotel bar — handy during a 45min bus wait.

- VRNovember 15, 2018Look for the Vino Volo local for a wine tasting experience while you wait for your flight! You can order a full glass of your election or try for 3 samplers and then make your choice! Cheers! ✌🏼😎
- Medium-sized airport always serving briskets and with live music. Take a minute and enjoy some of these artists performing live and keeping Austin weird!
- Try the Salt Lick taco bar near gate 10 for delicious brisket and breakfast tacos them grab a Bloody Mary
- The early morning rush can be a tad frustrating- both with traffic at departures and with TSA lines before 8 am. Get CLEAR and/or PreCheck and pack your patience (especially on Thursdays!). Welcome!
- Keep your face soft, smile, be polite, and usually others will mirror your behaviors. It’s actually a brain thing. Wish more people would try it. 💚
- Pre check is faster than Clear. Tacodeli brekky tacos & Medici drip. This is the move. Internet is great, hit the Delta SkyClub or Chase Lounge if you can. Dont forget to grab a sprinkles cupcake.
- For a good bite, check out the food area by Gate 12 - serving up food from Austin's best local eateries: Maudie's, The Salt Lick, and Amy's Ice Creams.
- Ruta Maya coffee (with baked goods from Quack’s Bakery), Taco Deli, East Side Pies - all local Austin businesses. Keeping it local!
- So many restaurants, bars, cafes to choose from…and the smells of bbq, Tex-mex and pizza are all around!! Arrive early for your flight and enjoy every minute of this great airport!
- The Salt Lick taco bar is the best greeting and farewell from beautiful ATX
- Salt luck BBQ. Live music at Asleep at the Wheel bar and acoustic live music at other spots occasionally. Amy's Ice cream for big & little kids.. Easy in &out. Reasonable valet and family valet..
- The migas at Maudies near Gate 12 make an excellent breakfast if you've got time for them to make it fresh.
- Annie's is my pick for the healthiest, local food in the building. Chickpea salad 🙋
- If you have TSA PreCheck and are not checking bags this airport is a breeze to get in and out of. Great food options too. Also, the only USA airport I've come across with live music!
- Maudie's "Pete's" breakfast tacos are a great way to start your trip. A nice bit of cheesy, eggy, heat for 5am.
- Carol BrannomJuly 7, 2014Get TSA Pre-Check & go to the center of the airport to get through security.One straight line-don't have to remove anything. I breezed through there in less than a minute. This was around 10-10:30 am.
- Easy to navigate. Smaller airports are the best! Lots of good food in this airport too.
- tricia wangMarch 15, 2011Take 100 airport express $1 to downtown. Eat at my fave rest that is free of sxsw crowd: boiling pot (hands + mallet + crabs) & lucky puccia (food cart w/ cold beers & best italian sandwiches)
- you can buy a frozen brisket from the salt lick and carry it with you on the plane in a thermal bag.
- The lowest priced Chocolate / Caramel Praline Pecans are at the Austin Warehouse District shop between gates 5 and 6. 16 ounces for $17.
- If you need to park - try to find the 3rd floor of the parking garage. Entrance is tricky with all of the construction, but worth it!

- Get there early, give yourself time to explore all they have to offer. You’ll find souvenirs, cupcakes, cosmetics, massage stations, bars, beers and good ol’ live country music.
- Ducklamp500 .July 24, 2015I didn't realize Salt Lick was the place to go for breakfast but those tacos are good! I got egg & pulled pork with some BBQ sauce. I wish I would have ordered 2!

- The first coffee shop always has the longest line. Skip it and head just past Gate 28 to Ruta Maya café. No lines. Pro tip from an airport employee to me to you!
- Try the breakfast tacos at ray benson's stand near gate 10. The chopped bacon is awesome in a taco. Plus $2 self serve coffee from Austin java.

- The airport has 5 music venues and offers over 1300 live performances a year. It's one of the only airports I actually like to arrive early for my flight.
- Amy's Ice Creams has the most affordable bottle water and coke a cola fountain drinks in the entire airport. Oh yeah also amazing ice cream.
