After a day of shopping on Colorado Boulevard or checking out the Huntington Gardens, hit up Umami for a craft beer and one of their burgers. Read more
holy crap this place is fantastic not an exaggeration, best burger I have ever had hands down I got the pizza burger, delicious beef covered in a ton of mozzarella cheese and marinara sauce, excellent
Best couture burger chain I've ever been to. The sunny side burger sent me to heaven and back. Hands down, these burgers rival any top burger in the country.
Had the spicy bird (with a beef patty instead of turkey) and the truffle cheese fries...delicious! My man had the Hatch burger and thin fries and his picky palate was satisfied.
Their turkey burgers are REALLY good and there is one off the menu... Ask for the spicy bird. Turkey burger w/ green chilies, cheese and a spicy aioli! Mmm!
Granted, the burgers are good. But I just spent $50 on a burger, fries, a desert, and a couple of beers. Was it good. Sure. Does it provide a value where I want to come back on a regular basis? Nope.
the portobello umami packs a punch with some mad flavor. perfect size. hold's up to the last bite w/o falling apart. order with sweet potato fries dipped in garlic aioli. nice spicy ginger ale.
OMG..SO GOOD! is the expression I make every time after eating here. Umami stands for the Japanese science of savory & apparently every burger has gone through the scientific process. Go for the HATCH
Truffle cheese fries!! Beet salad!! Green tea. And smushed potatoes. You can't go wrong, here, really. I just wish theyd bring their old veggie burger back

M-F 3-7pm, you've got happy hour specials including $4 beers & $5 off-menu Smash Burgers, which are a great intro to the offerings here. Tempura Onion Rings also good. Don't be afraid to sit at the ba

The first Umami International Symposium was held in Hawaii in 1985. There the term Umami was officially scientifically recognized. It is the taste of substances known as glutamates and nucleotides.
kombu #2 - a juicy Port & Stilton burger, sweet potatoe fries, and a glass of red wine. Burger isn't big and doesn't have the typical burger condiments but it's good...worth a try.
Everything has ketchup. So if you don't like ketchup or spicy flavoring then skip this place. Also not much plain for kids so don't bring them either. In fact don't come unless you are a hipster.
I personally find Umami a tad overrated, but they're definitely burger innovators and no tour of the LA burger scene would be complete without a visit.
Tater tots with jalepeno sour cream was the best part. Only one veggie option (outside of the special they have "3 days a month") not good certainly not great!! House beer is a bust!
