- The levels below are really good for serious studying! (You can go up to 3 levels down). There's outlets and individual desk lamps.
- If you are here to study go through the reading room all the way to the south side of the building. Big tables, big windows, and never very crowded, even during exams.

- Couches by the windows next to the staircase on the second floor were made for napping.
- Wear a tee shirt. Or better yet, a tank top. This place is ALWAYS boiling hot.
- Has some of the best astronomy + astrophysics books on campus
- Put two muffins or cookies in one paper bag. The cashiers always mistake this for one.
- The course reserves (short term loans) are a great alternative to buying text books especially recommended ones.
