Best coffee in Bay Area. No jokes. You won't ever want to go to Starbucks or Peet's (sic!) after Philz. Wide variety of light and medium roasts. For those who prefer burnt beans there are choices also
Start with a Tesora then work your way darker/lighter to find your favorite. Single cup brewing takes time. Be patient! It's worth the extra time. The cookies are awesome: try the candied popcorn one.

This is a very popular Philz. It is always busy. Many people do their work here while having their coffee.
Don VancoDecember 8, 2014I'm a fan of the Dancing Water, but I can't imagine that if you pick a range of roast that suits your palate you will be disappointed. I'm in town about 6 times a year & make sure it's near a Philz.- Get a cup of 1/2 ether and 1/2 philtered soul. The super smokiness of the ether with the hint of hazelnut in the p.s. is amazing. They'll totally make it for you. Just ask!

Try the Tesora your first time, and go light on the sugar (and consider light cream even if you normally take it black).

Definitely worth the wait :)- Silken Splendor medium medium + turkey sausage sammy with pepper sauce. My default breakfast, and absolutely. The. Best.

1) park at the liquor store lot 2) buy a bag of coffee and get a free small coffee (might for a limited time only). 3) bring your own cup and you only pay small coffee prices!

Try a half Philtered Soul half Silken Splendor with cinnamon in the filter. It will change your life!
The original Palo Alto Philz. Much more relaxing than the Forest Ave. location.- Best outdoor seating for a coffee shop, and of course the best coffee!
