Bring a sweater because it gets really cold in here,great theater nice and large so you don't feel too confined.Also no undesirables in sight to make the experience unpleasant.I'll be back here often!Upvoted 1 week ago- Only real IMAX theater in the city save for the science museum. As my friend had informed me, this theater is the one Real IMAX theater around. Great atmosphere, love the homages to old Hollywood. Cell reception is non-existent in underground theaters (could be seen as a feature). One of my favorite AMC’s.
I been coming here for a very long time bc I enjoy the theater style & atmosphere as oppose to other theaters in the area. Any time you are going to see any imax movie premier you must arrive early!

AMC has amazing hot concessions with generous portions.
Second largest IMAX screen in the United States. If you're seeing an imax film here be sure to reserve your seats ahead of time and the last three rows are perfect for viewing without straining.

Only real IMAX theater in the city. Reserved seating is a blessing. Sit in the balcony whenever available.

This place often gets movies about a week or so for many other theaters in the country do! Awesome opportunity to sneak peek movies before all of your friends!
Valerie SDecember 30, 2017HUGE theater spanning several floors, so check where your film is screening when you buy your ticket. Reserved seats, but the basement theaters still have the old style, not leather recliners.
This is my favorite movie theater in NYC. They're also the only real IMAX theater in NY State. I'm here practically every week. Believe me, you won't be disappointed!

If you are going to pay for a true IMAX showing, this is the place and the only place in NYC. Times Square, Kips Bay, and Union Square have converted IMAX screens from standard movie theater screens.
Absolute fave theaterplex in the city! Aside from having the only “true” IMAX screen in the city (vs. “IMAX Experience”), & a double-decker screen, I ❤️ the historical nod to old NYC theater palaces.

The best seat position for watching is exactly 1.5 screen heights away from the screen front of the theater. Dead center middle of the row. If I'm here early enough that's where you can find me. .
Best IMAX in the Northeast! It makes sense to get an AMC card and use Fandango to buy tickets, the fees are waived.
The IMAX is on the 3rd level upstairs (auditorium #13), while theaters #1–9 are on the 2nd level, and theaters 10, 11, 12 are actually BELOW the ground level.

If the movie you are seeing is on the 'Loews' theater upstairs, sit in the mezzanine for a better view. The second row is the best, unless you are really tall.
I forgot how I love this theatre this is how a movie theatre should look and the staff are phenomenal ! very professional and courteous!!! And the only actually IMAX theatre in NYC!!!
I like this theater. Lots of options, comfortable seats. Popular movies get sold out so make sure to book in advance.
Best AMC on the upper west. Conveniently located. Good meeting point for friends. Head over to Amsterdam avenue or Columbus circle for post movie food.
Best place for that true IMAX experience. You can even get pizza when watching IMAX. Make sure to get the triple meat pizza.

As many will say, the only real IMAX screen in the city. A very upper west side feel (very neighborhoodie).- Come extra early when it's opening weekend and one of the smaller screens. It's been getting hard to find seats. Maybe there are a lot of movie hoppers here.
This is the only real IMAX in the five boroughs. All the rest are fakers and haters. For the Loews screen, sit in the balcony.
