This is THE place to go see an IMAX movie in the city. And if that’s not your thing, this theater does showcase more independent features. And the theater is clean and pleasant.
Bring a sweater because it gets really cold in here, great theater nice and large so you don't feel too confined. Also no undesirables in sight to make the experience unpleasant.I'll be back here often!
A true IMAX screen and audio that might make your ears bleed, it's the best theater in the city. All shows in IMAX are reserve seating, you'll need to get tix 4-5 days in advance to ensure a good seat
Great atmosphere, love the homages to old Hollywood. Cell reception is non-existent in underground theaters (could be seen as a feature). One of my favorite AMC’s.
This theater was the first to boast a suitably giant IMAX screen when it opened in 1994. It's still the number one spot in the city to catch a 3D or big-screen flick. Read more
I been coming here for a very long time bc I enjoy the theater style & atmosphere as oppose to other theaters in the area. Any time you are going to see any imax movie premier you must arrive early!
A Cinematic Marvel in the Heart of NYC! AMC Lincoln Square is a movie lover's paradise with fun themes and decorations. Expensive tickets in the city but the AMC pass is worth it if you love movies!
By all means try the Chicken Tenders, Mozzarella Sticks, Jalapeño Poppers, and the BBQ Chicken Pizza. Not all at once of course. AMC has amazing hot concessions with generous portions.
Second largest IMAX screen in the United States. If you're seeing an imax film here be sure to reserve your seats ahead of time and the last three rows are perfect for viewing without straining.
This is a really cool theater! It has an old timey feel with how the different theaters are themed. Something you rarely see for a major chain like AMC.
My go-to for the real deal IMAX experience. Not cheap but also not one of those watered down fake IMAX theaters. Pick a seat high up so you're not straining your neck because the screen is huge!!
This place often gets movies about a week or so for many other theaters in the country do! Awesome opportunity to sneak peek movies before all of your friends!
HUGE theater spanning several floors, so check where your film is screening when you buy your ticket. Reserved seats, but the basement theaters still have the old style, not leather recliners.
This is my favorite movie theater in NYC. They're also the only real IMAX theater in NY State. I'm here practically every week. Believe me, you won't be disappointed!
If you are going to pay for a true IMAX showing, this is the place and the only place in NYC. Times Square, Kips Bay, and Union Square have converted IMAX screens from standard movie theater screens.
Absolute fave theaterplex in the city! Aside from having the only “true” IMAX screen in the city (vs. “IMAX Experience”), & a double-decker screen, I ❤️ the historical nod to old NYC theater palaces.
The best seat position for watching is exactly 1.5 screen heights away from the screen front of the theater. Dead center middle of the row. If I'm here early enough that's where you can find me. .
The IMAX is on the 3rd level upstairs (auditorium #13), while theaters #1–9 are on the 2nd level, and theaters 10, 11, 12 are actually BELOW the ground level.
Laid backmovie theater spanning multiple floors - some of the theaters are quite older and could use a refresh. Go to the one on 84th if they are playing your movie
If the movie you are seeing is on the 'Loews' theater upstairs, sit in the mezzanine for a better view. The second row is the best, unless you are really tall.
I forgot how I love this theatre this is how a movie theatre should look and the staff are phenomenal ! very professional and courteous!!! And the only actually IMAX theatre in NYC!!!
Best AMC on the upper west. Conveniently located. Good meeting point for friends. Head over to Amsterdam avenue or Columbus circle for post movie food.
Unless you're going to IMAX (and are the first in line to get the best seat), the seating is really bad-considering how much they charge, they really should have stadium seating in all the theaters.
Come extra early when it's opening weekend and one of the smaller screens. It's been getting hard to find seats. Maybe there are a lot of movie hoppers here.
