Oh the metro, there's always work being done but it's still the best transport there is! Will be much better once transport center is finally complete next door.
If you're traveling into DC, note that every second train starts here. So if the train that just arrived is full, wait a couple of minutes and the next one will be empty.
Can't wait until they finish the new garage! Come here to catch alot of buses from their origin to get a seat, even though the walk I most of the bus stops can be confusing and a hassle.
This station opened on February 6, 1978. Until the Forest Glen station was opened on September 22, 1990, this was the Red Line eastern terminal station. The Grosvenor-Strathmore train has less riders.
Careful with the smarttrip cards and fare machines- ppl will tap theirs and walk away so you put your money in and it goes on their card.. Not yours. I always hit cancel transaction before I start..
The Red line must've been built over an American Indian burial ground... It's always broken, slow, or delayed. Don't be surprised to wait 17 mins for a train here. On a weekday.
Great food to the northeast (more chains) & east (more local). Bus Transit Center should be done late 2011 / early 2012; in the meantime buses are on Wayne.
