Though popular belief holds the BK Bridge to be the more scenic walk, few should be detracted by the combination of escalating fumes and bikers in choosing this river crossing.
Easily the best graffiti of any of the bridges I've encountered in NYC, and by far the nicest bridge to walk along, given the lack of bikes and the relative lack of tourists. Tons of native NY'ers!
Great walk. Great view of the city. Great vibe. Beautiful people. Do yourself a favor and enjoy the 25 minute walk across the bridge. Coming into Manhattan is the best part.

The pedestrian entrance is on the south side of the bridge on Bedford Ave. There. Now, if you decide to walk across the bridge in the bike lane, you'll know why you're being screamed and cussed at.
Well, there are 2 2-lane roads going and returning. Of, course, there is enough room to travel within the lanes, but some people drive across like it's a 1-lane road making it impossible to pass.

If you aren't one of those lazy types, the walk across the Williamsburg Bridge is enjoyable and for the subway fans, it provides some good subway train watching as you walk across!
Running path under bridge on the Manhattan side is nice, especially on Saturdays when the hotties come out. Kind of unfair that they can afford to only exercise on weekends.
