- lana zieglerMarch 15, 2020One of my favorite meals in NYC to date, and that’s coming from a big foodie. Olive oils, bikini and crudo appetizers, and both pastas. Highly recommend.
- SunainaAugust 21, 2015Ask to be seated at the wine cellar downstairs for an intimate dinner. Octopus/rabbit sausage/spaghetti with a sea urchin base/pollo is a must try. Delizioso
- Ashley ChanJuly 23, 2017Gorgeous setting that transports you to an old home in Italy. The service is extremely attentive. The place stands out more than the food, but each dish was still delicious. Try the olive oil taster!
- Ohilikechickn .June 23, 2019Great spot! To start, the 🐙 is amazing... pair it with some 🦐, crudo + the house caesar. All their pasta options are 💯 and al dente. You can also get cacio e pepe on request. 👌👌
- Sandy CJanuary 29, 2015Rarely do I leave a restaurant completely satisfied. Tonight was one of those few times. We shared the kale salad, burrata, risotto, and pork sausage. Also, the panacotta and apple tart for dessert.
- Wilson ZhouApril 12, 2016Dunk the warm country bread in Umbrian olive oils produced exclusively for Il Buco. You’ll have no trouble finding a wine to match your meal; Il Buco’s list is one of the city’s best. -TimeOut
- Love this place. Delicious food and gorgeous space. Downside: seating is awkward - lots of communal tables and tables by doors leading to kitchen etc. Staff can be iffy/unhelpful.
- Beril EsenJanuary 18, 2015Ceviche is cured in blood orange here; definitely a must-try! Hanger steak is a little underdone but nonetheless highly palatable. Chocolate cake was somewhat too sweet.
- LukeNovember 26, 2017It’s easy to have a great meal here. Their regular menu is tried and true, but the seasonal items aren’t going to disappoint either. Get the ceviche, if they have it
- Social Espionage, LLCDecember 28, 2010My favourite dress-up Italian in the city. A varied menu with something for every palate - warm comfortable place that you can really relax and enjoy scrumptious italian cuisine and a great wine list.
- AMAZING Italian food, lovely atmosphere. If in season definitely get the heirloom tomato salad - divine. All pastas are great.
- Nick AndlingerAugust 8, 2015Love the Italian home vibe. Pastas are incredible as are fish and meat courses. Wine list is impeccable.
- Lauren LachsAugust 23, 2013the chocolate sorbet is the simplest and richest dessert on the menu, made with incredibly high quality dark chocolate. you can (and should) also get it to-go at alimentari
- EApril 24, 2015Authentic Italian spot. Very romantic and rustic. Try reserving the hidden wine cellar table for a special occasion!
- Andrea CiprianiAugust 3, 2020Good selection of Italian wines. The lobster paella was great. Nice ambience. Quality/Price is good but not excellent.
- Glen CoatesSeptember 23, 2014My favorite spot in NoHo for lunch. The people who work here are the best and the daily pasta menu always has something mind blowing on it.
- rich masioSeptember 14, 2015Food is insane good. Som guy was terrific, staff had to deal with an asshole group who disturbed the entire restaurant on 9-12-15. They made them leave and took care of everyone.
- CompassMay 19, 2014Mediterranean dishes change every night at the buzzing antique store turned restaurant. Il Buco is a favorite of many seasoned New Yorkers.
- Jen HaysJuly 13, 2011This food is amazing and so fresh! Ask for a wine paring, especially if you want to try it all! The sommelier recommended a nice wine that paired pretty elegantly with a wide variety of foods.
- David KaplanJuly 7, 2012Try the Spit-Roasted Short Ribs castelvetrano olives, celery, walnuts and horseradish - Doubly amazing. Enough for four people to share easily without too much fighting.
- Justine BloomeNovember 25, 2015Must try - this little Italian hole in the wall is at the foot of my friend's building and is warm, wonderful and delicious.
- Hale TunaboyluSeptember 11, 2013Great place. Ricotta salad and salt coated red snapper perfect. Ricotta cake with apricots awesome. Wonderful interior setting and atmosphere
- Renaissance HotelsFebruary 12, 2013An amazing Italian grocery store in the front, a romantic trattoria in the back – the porchetta a la Romana and octopus carpaccio are outstanding. For more, follow us on 4sq or at www.renhotels.com. Read more
- Ekta DaryananiMay 7, 2015The spaghetti with sea urchin is garlicky and delicious! The panna cotta with the balsamic drizzle blew my mind!
- Rent the RunwayApril 27, 2011Lit by lamps mostly made of farming tools, this is for the foodie in you. Ask your server about the red wines- they've got an impressive selection but don't skip out on the Kumquat Rickey either way.
- Tiffany & CoJune 1, 2011Formerly an antique shop, this charming enoteca beckons with the warmth of an Italian grandmother and fires romance. Book early and they’ll celebrate Tiffany couples with a prosecco toast.
- Katie DesmondDecember 4, 2010terrific meal! i highly recommend dinner downstairs in the wine cellar. the kale salad in awesome, along with the pork chop. and if you feel like splurging, definitely get the truffle pasta
- RajAugust 3, 2018Reliable and friendly eatery that has been consistently good for a long time now. Super wait staff
- The Corcoran GroupAugust 5, 2013A truly amazing and romantic Italian restaurant - especially if you sit in the wine cellar.
- Gregory FisherFebruary 13, 2019Wasn’t impressed by anything, but the olive oil and bread. This includes the chicken, Torchio, carbonara, trout, crostata, and chocolate cake:(
- Halstead PropertyAugust 4, 2011Il Buco’s homemade pasta was perfectly complimented by their fine wine list. Don’t hesitate to purchase the nutty green olive oil and take home, it’s worth it.
- Reb FSJuly 12, 2013No wireless signal in the downstairs area! Tough if you are expecting emails. But, delicious food and wine. If I wasn't working, would have been lovely!
- Amelia TidonaNovember 6, 2018Cozy, warm atmosphere. Perfect place for a birthday with lots of wine & pasta.
- White lasagna bolognese is amazing. Very rich. Go splitty splitty with a pal on that and the ricotta dumplings.Upvoted 2 days ago
- AleSeptember 28, 2018Loved the food, especially the risotto. Unfortunately had an inconvenient will the bill, they were charging a c.22% tip upfront without disclosing any tip in the receipt. Make sure you check your bill
- Alper E.November 1, 2016They printed a new menu with our names because of our anniversary celebration. Very nice gesture!
- J StandeferApril 20, 2016Great female bartender. Great pasta dish. Great wine selections. Neat take on the kale salad.

- John TantilloJune 27, 2014Try the Tuna main coarse and ginger ale drink. Thanks Jonscott for a great birthday lunch.
- Virginie Martin-OnraetJuly 19, 2013Perfectly cute. Spaghetti with cockles and white wine <3 Pasta is amazing and fish is delicious.
- AmateurConciergeFebruary 16, 2018Widely considered some of the best Italian in lower Manhattan but don’t expect red sauce. Quality ingredients but don’t really get the hype.
- Stephen AleschAugust 11, 2011I live a block away. I've been here 120 times, they still ask me where I'm from and if I've ever been here before. The food is good but turnaround of staff is high. Who's torturing these people!
