The pizza here is delicious. I recommend coming here with a small group and sharing a few different pies to try the most toppings, although their ricotta is my favorite.

Authentic, original pizza. If you see a line outside don't be scared away, it's about 15 minutes for every 10 people. Also look out for the signed Pete Rose jersey!

I'm a native New Yorker & incredibly snobby about pizza. BELIEVE THE HYPE, this place is great! You won't need it, but don't be afraid to ask for some Parm (not on the table). Only fail? Nast bathrooms

Classic pies in a grungy setting. Great for a casual night with friends. Try to avoid the tourists by going on a weeknight.

John's gets their meat toppings fresh from Faicco's, the Italian butcher down the block. Get sausage pizza here, trust me.

Great service! Simple menu! Just get the pizza, no matter what. Pitchers of beer for $22. And worth the wait if there’s a line. Best pie pizza in town!

Absolutely my favorite pizza place in NYC. Great service and the quality of their food is consistent and great. I like this better than Grimaldi's.

Absolutely delicious thin crust pizza. We ordered a salad and one pie for two people and had the pie split in half w/ two different combos. Everyone gets what they want!

The traditional and the boom, both lacks on flavor (roasted tomatoes are very good), the meat lovers pie has the flavor but’s nothing extraordinary Will recommend if u hungry, close n there’s no line.

Cheese slice 8.8, meatball 9.0. Tastes like Joe's but with better sauce. They don't serve slices, which meant I almost ate the entire pie. Was in and out before the dinner rush, great pizza.

Real solid pizza. Sometimes it takes a bit for your pie to come out, but it's a million times better than any instant gratification dollar slice joint. Patience is a virtue. Especially with pizza.

Classic pizza place. If you're a one-slicer type of person this is not your jam. No slices all pies, but one bite and you won't regret it.

If you look up NYC pizza in the dictionary there is a picture of John's Pizza. Be sure to try the coal fired pizza and the sausage sandwich.

It has a reputation for being the best for a reason. (Note that I'm not saying it's the best, because choosing the best pizza in New York is a fool's errand.)

There is a reason it is always named as one of the best pizza places. It's crowded though so come early or expect to wait. They only take cash.

Our favorite spot for a slice. Coal-fired-brick-oven-cheese-&-sausage-light-sauce. Yum!! Line out the door moves quickly, so get in it.

While I love all the toppings keeping it simple is the way to go you get to taste the flavors on a crispy slice (sometimes the everything pizza turns soggy)

Established 1929 and continuously operated. One of the only coal pizza ovens in NYC. As a friend who grew up nearby says, "they have a talent for making burnt pizza and flat cola taste magical."

One of the few remaining NYC coal oven pizzerias (along with Patsy's & Totonno), where the burn, at 200 Fahrenheit higher than a wood oven, contributes a very special character to the crust. Read more

Some of the best pizza in the Big Apple! Stick with the classic cheese pie, with heavenly margarita sauce! Cash only though, but that's how they keep their prices down!

First time trying the "best pizza in NYC," apparently going at 10 pm on the fourth of July is the best way to beat the "crazy" lines. No AC, sit at a table with a fan. Seriously is the best pizza.

Brick oven cheesiness. Another one of NYC's best spots to get a pizza. They don't do slices so either come here with some friends or be prepared to eat an entire pie by yourself!

Get the black olive and sausage pie-The loamy fennel sausage is freshly made, the tomatoes bright tasting, the canned olives saline, and all the flavors come together deliciously!

This is a controversial opinion but for a better slice keep walking up to Bleecker Street Pizza. Otherwise just turn the corner and get a dollar slice by the subway.
