- The fancy dinner set up is completely different from the tech-crowd-friendly lunch setup. Don't miss out on the orange sauce with your chips. It's awesome. Some good tacos for lunch.
- Erica JacksonSeptember 2, 2016Very unique place with really bomb Mexican food. Free chips and 3 salsas (orange one is amazing) are the tastiest. Chile Verde was fantastic and actually very filling.
- Maxim KazantsevMarch 22, 2014Free chips are a great appetizer. Food is awesome, but be ready for really big dishes, most probably one main would be enough for a dinner. Great margaritas.
- Luke BornheimerMay 24, 2013If you're vegetarian, order the tofu dish that's not on the menu (your waiter will know what you're talking about)—It's amazing! I substituted veggies for the rice and asked for no potatoes—Delicious!
- Best lunch burrito downtown! Their beans and rice are vegan and you can get tofu or veggies. Plus a great salsa bar.
- Luke AndrewsMarch 3, 2014Looks fancier than it is (in a good way), but one of the best food options around the malls. Fresh chips and top notch salsa selection. Try the al pastor taco with pineapple.
- Ashok LalwaniNovember 19, 2014Very lively with really good Mexican food. Complimentary salsas are the best. Pazole Vegetariano was delicious and very much a comfort food. Also, less expensive than any other dinning rest. in FiDi.
- CC TSeptember 3, 2018The nachos and house margaritas are amazing. We showed up during happy hour so the full menu wasn’t available, but I’ll definitely be back !
- J LiAugust 6, 2014happy hour deals are great! delicious $5 pint-sized house margaritas and cheap tacos. only goes from 4-6PM. usually plenty of room to sit outside but it can be chilly so bring a light jacket.
- Melanie UlrichJuly 14, 2015Their fried plantain appetizer is amazing! The environment is nice, family friendly, friendly staff, their salsa with chips is also amazing! My husband and I really liked the chile de arbol salsa.
- Ember BakerMay 1, 2017Tropisueño Tortas!!!! All of the meats that they make, on a sandwich with guac, what more can you ask for?!
- Amanda ThauMarch 19, 2016They do fast casual for lunch and turn into a sit down restaurant for dinner. All food is fantastic! The carne torta was an excellent lunch. Don't forget your margarita!
- Taylor LeeMay 3, 2018This is the perfect place for happy hour! With great prices on margaritas and complimentary chips and dip - it's one of the best places to meet after work or a long day.
- DanielleApril 26, 2018Delicious Mexican food in a loud but welcoming environment. Definitely recommend making a reservation if you come here for dinner.
- PereperchiliMay 13, 2013The food is so tasty, I wouldn't believe it! Great options for vegetarians, my choice is veggie cesadiliya. They offer some guacamole with it - take it, it's worth it! And black beans as a side :)
- Kate StoneFebruary 5, 2019The ceviche "try all three" plate might not be enough for one person, and definitely not enough to share - the plate is the same size as the table salsa platter.
- Luke BornheimerMay 22, 2013Hands down, the best tortilla chips in SF! Perfect amount of oil, salt and crunchiness.
- Jean LMarch 26, 2015Good margaritas. I have had better on the peninsula great friendly service I felt happy to be here. Bartender was friendly and the waiter who took our table was as well. Will come back.

- James KiernanApril 30, 2018Salsa trio is out of this world - especially the spicy habanero. If you’re a fan of 🐷, I recommend the Huaraches "Tres Cochinitas". Enjoy!
- WillFebruary 13, 2017Tacos are great. Salads are huge with jicama. Salsas and chips are the best, thin and crispy.
- The carnitas taco is the pro move. Just don't forget to try the salsas from the salsa station.
- Dhaval BadianiFebruary 23, 2016Looks high end but it's a very casual place. Try the margaritas and fried plantain appetizer. Skip the guacamole. Decent chips and salsa.
- Elizabeth BursteinAugust 4, 2017Great spot for big groups. Came here with the girls before Purim party - delicious guacamole. Try hard not to fill up on chips before!
- LuxurylatteMarch 23, 2013Yes, the margaritas are that good. They use fresh ingredients not mixers. And two, the Mexican food is more on the authentic side, so don't go looking for bell grande bs. Get the pork chops.
- Doug BaerAugust 31, 2013Chips are served with 3 kinds of salsa, all are tasty. I had the eponymous dinner entree; all of us in the group cleaned our plates. Beer was cold, service was fast. Place was a little noisy.
- Tina KangMay 7, 2014Really good Mexican food very decent pricing! Per the waiter's suggestion tried the Camarones al Mojo de Ajo and the Huaraches Tres Cochinitas and was not disappointed
- Venugopal VenkatramanOctober 12, 2018The food was good. The chili relleno was good. Surprising variety of sauces and salsa makes this a really good place to try in the Financial District.
- Some of my favorite carnitas tacos around. The seasoning is perfect. And get some orange salsa for your chips. Or just to rub on your face.
- Caryn EatonSeptember 25, 2012One of the best HH I've found thusfar! $2 street tacos, $5 Rita's (way strong), $5 wells and $3 drafts... Free chips (thin and prefect) and trio of awesome salsas!!!
- Gerardo CanavatiJuly 8, 2019Those tacos and chips really hit the spot, they also have really good tamales. Get yourself a Mexican coke and have a seat.
- Alex BosworthNovember 23, 2016The burritos and salsa bar are great: just line up at lunch and order Chipotle-style.
- Michael DanahyJuly 31, 2019Happy Hour in bar area and patio Monday through Friday, 4-6pm. $3 Tecate, $4 drafts, $7 Wells. $5 Quesadillas, Guac, Ceviche.
- Pam ☕️ OFebruary 11, 2017Tropisueno adds a tropical spin to the Al Pastor taco with chunks of pineapple. A bit too greasy for my 🌮 liking.
- Kendal CockrelSeptember 16, 2018Great spot for lunch during the week. Line can get long but moves very fast. Tortilla chips are free if you’re dining in.
- Ellen McGrodyFebruary 12, 2015Really delicious, hearty Mexican food. I've never done the sit down service but I love their burritos and their salsa bar is killer. Go for the carnitas!!
- Incredible chips and collection of salsas! Great for dinner or lunch. Try the salmon entree at dinner and combo platters for lunch
- Jennifer Kielmeyer PritchardSeptember 12, 2013New here? 1. Look at the menu on the left. 2. Walk forward and order. Know what you want. 3. Go to cashier, order your drink and pay. 4. Go to salsa bar. 5. Sit and wait. Overwhelming when busy & new!
- Tom MooreNovember 10, 2016I love their appetizers (ceviche, empanadas and molotes) and make a meal of those with a top shelf margarita (or two).

- Ms HeleneJuly 30, 2018Ceviche of tilapia was about 3 tablespoons of fish and avocado $12, Camarones Tropisueno is large and comes with tortillas $20.
- The chicken vegetable soup is great. It was the perfect pick-me up on a sick day + low carb. A splurge ($11) but 10x better than other soup companies.
- Fernando Gomollón BelAugust 13, 2014Really great and authentic mexican food. Excellent guacamole, and really good shrimp burrito.
- Love the chips and salsa here. The salsa bar covers a diverse set of flavors and spice levels. All of them are fantastic!
- Taqueria by day, classy turn-the-lights-down-low restaurant by night. Awesome (free) chips, many salsas, and I recommend any of the super tacos.
- I agree with all the tips about the chips and salsa. So good. Also highly recommend the Huaraches “tres Cochinitas.”
