- Young to PublishingSeptember 11, 2011This former hotel in Gramercy Park opened as a bar in 1864 and was renamed Healy's in 1899. In the early 20th century, O. Henry lived nearby and wrote about the bar in his story "The Lost Blend."
- Joshua GrussOctober 25, 2017Love visiting Pete's when in the area. Always a friendly Irish bartender to chat with & good food. Looking at the pictures of all the celebrities who have visited throughout the years is always fun.
- Pete's is both an NYC institution & tradition claiming to be the oldest continuously operating bar in city. I come here for the "old New York" ambiance! Solid burgers, salads, and pub fare! Perfect!Upvoted Feb 19
- P. D.July 18, 2014Can't beat the ambience. Thrilled it is still around. Will be a go to in my new nabe. However, it kills me that the food is as bad as it is. Make a run for a top 10 burger...the place screams for it.
- amNewYorkOctober 5, 2011O. Henry wrote “Gift of the Magi” in one of the black-lacquered booths, and the “Oldest Continuously Operating Bar & Restaurant in New York City” serves a surprisingly fresh weekend brunch.
- Great for casual drinks, and light fare. Haven’t tried the burger yet but it looks amazing!!

- Daniel BenkwittFebruary 1, 2015A New York classic and all around great neighborhood spot. The Gramercy burger is particularly good (and all burgers are cooked to perfection).
- prince of ArroganceMay 2, 2014This place is just fantastic. Excellent beers, great clientele and just a great New York vibe off the place. Pete ale is a great beer!
- Untapped CitiesNovember 8, 2014The building itself dates back to 1829, though it was not operated as a bar until 1864. Its large signs claiming to be the oldest bar in the city have been greatly disputed by McSorley’s. Read more
- Mel CantoriasMay 20, 2018I had the mussel linguini in garlic and oil sauce paired with a glass of cabernet wine. The taste was perfect!

- jon accarrinoSeptember 27, 2012O. Henry was a regular at this bar and lived down the street at 55 Irving Place between 1903 to 1907. At the time, Pete's Tavern was called Healy's. O. Henry mentions the bar in "The Lost Blend."

- Peter VigeantJune 28, 2013Not surprisingly, not only is Pete's one of the oldest bars in America, it has the notoriety for the highest number of alleged "bar babies" from adventurous to-be parents.
- Nuri JeonDecember 7, 2014Very crowed. They have awesome egg nog with brandy. Also looks like a really cool place for group dinner.

- Brandon McGrawNovember 27, 2012O Henry was a regular at this Union Sq drinking hole. It opened in 1864, though drinking likely happened in the location before that, becoming Healy's in 1899 & Pete's Tavern later on. - From Eater NY

- Brigette K.March 17, 2013Food was okay, place itself was cool and the waiter was super nice! Booths were small and I kept getting hit as people walked by. Good St Patricks Day place though
