On The Embarcadero, checkout the marketplace, Blue Bottle Coffee and Pepples Donuts. People watch as workers come and go on the ferries and rush hour time. Great bay views and outdoor dining fun.

The marketplace has lots of great shops and restaurants in it, and is a nice place to walk around (plus, views of the Bay). And there's a good farmers market on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

Local purveyors, hawking everything from cheese and chocolate to cupcakes, line the arcades of this historic waterfront building; the city’s best farmers’ market sets up out front three days a week.

Fresh food, independing purveyors, yummy food outlets, a lovely Sur La Table shop for all your cooking needs (expensive however!) and Hog Island Oyster Co: best indoor food market in the world!?

If you like nice things, like gelato, mid-century pottery, cured meat, milk, chocolate, olive oli, oysters, Vietnamese food, coffee, books, views of the Bay, or architecture, you should visit here.

It's like these guys were reading our journal when they selected the tenants – Cowgirl Creamery, Hog Island Oysters, Boccalone Salumeria, beekind, and Rancho Gordo among a few of our favorites.

What I like best about the ferry building is I don't have to choose. I can snack on Hog Island Oysters AND get a Roli Roti sando AND eat cowgirl creamery cheese AND get a geranium macaron at Miette.

Buy monthly Muni/Clipper cards here. Go to Cowgirl Creamery & Acme for cheese & bread. Pick up coffee at Blue Bottle. For dessert, try the rose macaron from Miette or oranges from Twin Girls Farm.

They have a mosaic of the Seal of California on the second floor. Just ask the security guard nicely and they'll let you through to take a picture :)

Probably the single best place for a tourist to get an understanding of Northern California foodie, hipster, coffee, and ethnic culture all in one spot. Beautiful architecture and bay front spot.

The Ferry Building has a lot of good vendors for unique and delicious food. The little bad thing is the prices for the goods are getting expensive. My "secret spot" there has a great view 😀

The smell of coffee surrounding inside of the entire building took me back to that exact time I've been to Italy for the first time as a 7 years-old kid. Lovely setting, lovely ambiance & atmosphere.

Lots of things to see and many eateries. Can eat inside the building or take outside and sit on the bench and eat. Be careful of the birds trying to beg for food. Don’t feed them!

Great variety of local, healthier options. It gets pretty busy so the sit-down restaurants usually have wait times unless you make a reservation, but usually not too long and worth it.
