It's free if you have Japan Rail Pass. If you didn't buy it this time, make sure you do next time you travel to Japan. It'll save you big, especially if you plan to use trains to go outside of Tokyo.

7 days pass from Tokyo to Osaka to Kyoto and back to Narita plus around town in JR lines with Japan Rail Pass it is worth the $.

ここから地上（高架ホーム）へ出るための長い階段とエスカレーター付近にエレベーターを新設中。完成は2020年度だそうです。

東京駅の総武線地下ホームが開業してたのは7月15日。1972年（昭和47年）7月15日に東京駅の地下に東京地下駅として巨大な空間が誕生し、大きな話題となったという。また房総西線が内房線に房総東線が外房線に名称変更と電化され特急運転を開始。

EVが各ホーム１箇所しかないため、キャリーバックを持ったままエスカレーターに乗る人が多い。ただし、手を離してしまい、キャリーバックが下の人を直撃するケースが後をたたない。

下記アナウンスあり。総武快速線は、横須賀線内でのレールの交換作業のため、１１時３０分頃から９０分程、横須賀線への直通運転を中止し、東京駅で折返し運転を行います。
