- Chris KuroseFebruary 20, 2016Best ramen I've had in SF, hands down (and I've been to 15+ spots in my search). Rivals Tsujita in LA which no other SF joint ha been able to shake a stick at imo.
- David HeiserApril 18, 2016Best ramen I've ever had. Get the tori paitan or vegan tantanmen ramen. Worth waiting in a really long line, and I hate lines.
- Tim BushJuly 23, 2017Epic line up, we waited over an hour, but totally worth it. Arguably the best ramen I have had outside of Japan. Go check it out!
- Diana ArzApril 24, 2016Lovely decor (baskets for your belongings under the table!), very unique, extremely creamy ramen. Wish they added eggs. Open late. Super friendly. A bit pricey, but worth the try!
- Diana ArzMarch 9, 2018Since most of the broth have fish in it(I am allergic), I was limited to a vegan ramen. It’s so nutty, intense, very good. Chashu pork is absolutely delicious, melts in your mouth, has a smoky flavor.
- Kartik SathappanMay 12, 2018Wow. I’ve tried the spicy paitan, spicy lamb, and matcha ramen. They were all great but the spicy paitan was the best. The noodles are perfect and put all other Bay Area ramen joints to shame.
- Vinny La BarberaDecember 23, 2016I got the organic shoyu ramen and it was so good. My gf got the vegan one and the broth was even better than mine. Get there 20-30 min before open or else you'll be waiting at least 1 hour in line.
- Colby GuanMarch 28, 2018If you line up around 4:30-4:40 you'll probably get in with the first batch of people. Both of the appetizers, oysters (generous amount) and mushrooms chips, are worth getting.
- The tseukemen is amazing. Ask to have broth added to the sauce in the end. makes a delicious after-meal soup
- LorcánJanuary 25, 2019Enoki chips: delightful and $4 mugi shochu is what is up. Ramen is superb, but I was truly impressed with how perfectly engineered the noodle texture and soup temperature remained throughout the meal.
- One of the best vegan ramens I’ve had. If you like spicy, be sure to ask for it. Crunchy and nutty, balanced flavor, creamy soup base and thick firm yellow ramen noodles. 😋 line a bit long tho
- The tori paitan is the best chicken ramen I've ever had, with super thick noodles. The oyster appetizer is worth a try, too.
- May LeeJuly 14, 2017very high quality ramen with a unique texture - the soup is definitely a highlight as you can find some interesting mixture of two or more kinds!
- Winson WongDecember 11, 2016Get the Mazesoba. It's mixing bowl of ramen (think bimbimbap for Korean rice) but the flavor is the bomb. It's better than their soup ramen I think. The chicken paitan ramen is good too but heavy.
- Thomas PajorApril 4, 2016You will find quite a long line outside when coming here, but it's well worth it! The Tori Paitan ramen is very creamy and the meat is nothing but delicious.
- Phui Leng ChanFebruary 5, 2017I had the Tori Paitan Ramen. I was in the queue for close to an hour and honestly I thought the Ramen is kinda overhyped. Yes it's quite tasty but seriously I had better.
- Sophyan JulioFebruary 22, 2016It is still hyped up! Visited two weeks after launch and the wait to get a seat for two was an hour and a half on Sunday night. Try the signature thick chicken broth ramen. #chewynoodles
- Best ramen in SF, IMO. Specials are always new, creative, and delicious. The regular menu is enough to keep you going back time and again. Organic shoyu isn't amazing, everything else though... 😋
- Andy WangJune 28, 2016Really good noodle. Tori paitan broth is super rich. My vote is for the organic shio. Worth a visit but my favorite is still Ramen Dojo in San Mateo.
- Derk-Jan HartmanJanuary 15, 2017After tasting the veggie ramen, I almost wished I had ordered it myself. All round awesome and worth the almost 2 hour wait.
- Stephanie TauntonJune 23, 2016Superb and awesome food. I am so happy to that i found the perfect food place. My favorite Pork Chashu ( tasty )
- Toland HonAugust 13, 2016Hey the Tori Paitan ramen double meat portions! The duck chashu is melts in your mouth ands the creamy broth is delicious. Be prepared to wait in line for an hour. No reservations on wait list.
- Iñaki AranzadiOctober 29, 2016Tori Paitan really made my day. It taste like ramen but in a weird good way better than a normal ramen plate. Totally worth the line.
- Alessandro MingioneJuly 3, 2016Everything is delicious here. Some ingredients—like kale—are not traditional, but it's definitely authentic ramen. You don't find many places that make good shoyu outside of Japan, so I'd go for that!
- Israel SFebruary 19, 2016The best ramen in SF, even for Tokyo this would be fairly good. Pricey for add-ons ($9 beer??) but the main dishes are fair, particularly the Shoyu Ramen.
- The Tori Paitan ramen served here is one of the best ramen I've ever had. So good. It's definitely worth the wait. Get the double chashu pork!
- Frances 미라April 11, 2016Tori paitan ramen is really rich and creamy. If that's what you like in a broth, you must get that ramen. Spicy chasu maze soba is pretty good but really spicy because they have jalapeño seeds in it.
- Youssof MalSeptember 6, 2019Matcha is a truly unique bowl, not to mention the succulent duck chashu. The noodles are on the thicker side, super chewy. Love it
- Kiri InouyeSeptember 23, 2016Vegan ramen is amazing! Broth is rich and creamy with a little kick to it. Trust me you won't miss the meat bc it's loaded with yummy toppings! Tori paitan is also delicious.
- Tobias SchmidtOctober 13, 2017There's no doubt these guys know what they're doing. The tori paitan was a well-constructed bowl of ramen with all ingredients bar none cooked to perfection. In the end though it just wasn't for me.
- Matthew HuieJune 17, 2016The Tori Paitan ramen was delicious! Shio ramen was recommended for my next visit.
- Dai ShiFebruary 23, 2017Everyone talks about the Tori Paitan, but you should try the spicy lamb ramen.
- I'm not a vegan, but the Vegan Tantanmen might be my favorite thing to order here! 😱
- Rob SApril 7, 2016Vegan ramen is highly recommended. This is the broth u want. If u aren't vegan - add meat on the side.
- jansen cJanuary 29, 2017Good soup and nice decor, however I would not wait an hour for this.. highly recommend you to come here before 5pm to shorten your wait
- Josh FerraraApril 21, 2017I went for the Tori Paitan and was not disappointed! The broth has such a rich flavor, and the double chashu was a great choice also. Go for it!
- Don't over-order! They're serious about no takeout — you won't be able to bring your leftovers home.
- An ShengJuly 9, 2018Had the wagyu ramen, it looks amazing but was just meh... the egg was cold on the inside, the broth was too salty even for ramen, and I prefer thinner, more chewable noodles (try Marufuku instead)
- Pavan KulkarniJuly 9, 2017Get the veggie tatanmen ramen. Really long lines so be patient. The smell inside is strong so might be stuffy for some
- Shruthi GowdaJuly 10, 2017Vegan Tantanmen was yumm!! The soup is thick and creamy with lots of nuts giving a crunchy touch to it.
- Cole KennedyOctober 26, 2018I am going to dream about the spicy chicken broth for the rest of my life, brother.
- ChenyuSeptember 26, 2016Come at 11:15pm and no wait then. The pork soup is thick and foamy. Medium spicy is habanero- really spicy.
- Staff PicksFebruary 18, 2016Since opening last week, this ramen restaurant has taken SF by storm and is on our list of trending this week. Come by the heart of SF and see what people are talking about. Read more
- Protip: order the vegan tantanmen ramen and add a slice of pork or duck chashu
- Taylor LeeMay 3, 2018The vegan ramen is really worth trying here - even if you're not vegan! The broth is delicious and really different than normal ramen.
- Adam MoreNovember 4, 2016Tori ramen is the best thing here, but the place is very over hyped. There wasn't much of a line, waited maybe 15mins before being seated (I guess I got lucky).
- Maya ShanmugamFebruary 19, 2016Waited in line for an hour, I recommend going in a group of 2-3 max. The ramen has traditional roots w/ subtle California flair + the staff is really nice
- William WungSeptember 10, 2016Tiny restaurant so you'll likely be sitting next to strangers. My favorite is the vegan broth ! The oyster appetizers are not my favorite.
- The broth is simply to die for. Really long line ups though 30 minutes average on Saturdays!
