Beautiful Square. They have a great variety of events throughout the year, and it is a great place to hang out for a bit. Stand in the center of the mini-ampitheatre and talk, then stop by Starbucks.

Nice place for gatherings and meeting up with friends. Later in the night you do see more homeless and ghetto people roaming the area. But overall, still a good place, and near shops!

The Portland Hotel stood on the site from 1891 to 1951. It had 326 rooms, bars, a restaurant, etc., and faced the courthouse. When it was demolished to make way for a 2-level parking lot.

Man, after a year of not going here, so much have changed when coming back. For the good, that is. Besides Starbucks, events always happen there, benches for sunny days, chess, etc.

If you ever get the chance, go into the closet beyond the golden doors (underneath the Starbucks). There's a gateway to Narnia in there.
