A piece of history old beautiful exposed brick. Old bar. The food was american Classic comfort. Drinks were strong but fairly priced. The staff was attentive. Food was awesome. A must do!!
the Clark burger with whiskeyonions, Cabot cheddar, smoked bacon, & avocado. It truly was one of THE best burgers I've had! For dessert the New York Cheesecake with a blueberry compote!
The signature "Cadillac Burger"—nicknamed by Nat King Cole in the '50s because he thought it was the Cadillac of…well, you get the idea—is everything you want in an old-school, unfussy barburger. Read more
The ONLY place to eat in Midtown East. Come late at night too. Wonderful Oysters! Try that Cadillac Burger...!!.m "One More For The Road" was penned here. Classic, old school NYC!
One of my favorite burger experiences in NYC. It's a straightforward simple burger but so good. It did take 15 min past our reservation to get our table ready, so build that into your expectations.
The cheese burger is brilliant! One of my all time favorites. Medium done, it melts in your mouth, and the partially fried pickles were the best part. The fries were excellent too.
Brick walls, dark wood, old black-and-white photos and the quintessential New York burger. You can have it all right into the wee hours of the morning, just like Sinatra used to do. Read more
Love this place. The burgers make any New Yorkers "top 10" list. Great traditional New York bar. They make an awesome (but expensive @ $16) Bloody Mary too. Friendly bartenders and a local crowd.
P.J. Clarke's is where you eat in Midtown East when you're stuck working late on a Monday. But understand others will have the same idea, and not all of those people will be sober. Read more
The Clarke burger is my go-to. Straightforward but aint plain jane. Medium, w/ cheese, and a malbec. You’d think the sea saltfries takes on a supporting role- nope, it’s a star in its own right too .
The no-frills cheeseburger features six ounces of seared ground chuck and raw onion on a white bun, customizable with cheese and add-ons such as avocado, butcher’schili and béarnaise sauce. (RC) Read more
One of the best 'classic New York' bars in town. It certainly has the best personality of any place in East Midtown. Nice mix of old-skool charm and modern(ish) food/drink.
An iconic bar and restaurant, with tons of history and great food. The burgers were amazing, and the sweet potato fries are delicious. Will definitely come back.
Probably the best burgers in NYC!! Definitely don't miss it and you shall visit over and over again!! Bar is great too for after work drinks! A don't miss spot in NYC!!
Amazing burger place. Wagyubacon cheddar burger is one of my favorite burgers. Buttered Naked Lobster Roll was also outstanding, and the lobster is so good.
Yeah, the burger, but their Lobster Roll with an order of french fries is the business! Only on Wed. though. Lobster mac-n-cheese is another good item. Only on Fridays though.
The burgers here are awesome and they're made even better when paired with the onion strings. Good for a casual lunch or dinner. Keep an eye out for the old school bathrooms as well.

If your college visits bring you to the big city, find a few minutes to grab a bite and watch world go by at PJ Clarke's. The burgers, the mac & cheese, the raw bar...you cannot go wrong here!
Grab the bacon cheeseburger or the Reuben with the fries and union strings. Everything was great, ended the meal with the NY Cheesecake. Perfect night out!
Get the chips and dip. It's a homemade cheese-sauce. Incredible. Bonus points if you can convince them to bring fries instead of the chips, cuz the fries are incredible.
The cadillac is amazing! Top it off with shoe string fries and a brooklyn lager or 2 or 3. Sooo goood! Service is friendly and prompt! Atmosphere is relaxed.
Great burgers, but amazing desserts. Warm apple cobbler is delicious, and I don't even like apple cobbler. Sweet creamcheesecake? God, yes. And always great service.
Get the Cadillac Burger, named by Nat King Cole, because he called it the "Cadillac of burgers". He was right, it is one of the best burgers in NYC. Throw in some home fries and you'll be very happy.
Since 1884 this venerable New York institution with its colorful history has entertained the famous, the infamous and everyone else who appreciate the ambiance & food of a real saloon. “The Cadillac of Burgers” tastes as good as ever, especially paired with your favorite pint.
